ECA AWARDS 2021 Edition


Are you in Senior Secondary Class 3 or know someone in that class? Is he or she your ward, family member or a friend? Hurry now and tell them that there is a call for scholarship and they might win it for the 2021 edition. 


The ECA Awards’ Governing Council and Dr. Emmanuel C. Anadebe MBBS, MSc (Public Health) call for applications for 2021 Scholarship Award from all final year Secondary School students in Nigeria.



Two awards are available for the 2021 edition of The ECA Awards.



At the time of application, each applicant must:

  • Be in Senior Secondary Class 3 in a public* or private school.

  • Be in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) class.

  • Have successfully completed First Term Assessment.

  • Be 15 years old or above at the time of application.

  • Have minimum of 5 Credits** in the first term assessment, including English, General Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

  • Must provide as evidence, clear scanned copy of the First Term Assessment result with permission/pin for verification.

  • Must originate from any of the following States: Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross-River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers State.


* Being in a Public School with club membership in school gives you an advantage

** Credits are part of minimal requirements; however, distinctions will give you an advantage.

  • You are STRONGLY ADVISED not to apply if you do not meet all the eligibility criteria.

  • To apply, you must have written your essay and letter of motivation.

  • Only Nigerians can apply for the Award.


Before you apply, make sure you have the following with you:

  1. Email address and mobile number. Where you don’t have one, consent must be gotten to use your parents’. They must agree to respond and reply on time on your behalf.

  2. Full address, postal address, email address and phone number of your School.

  3. Scanned copy of your First Term Assessment Result with visible school stamps (compulsory) and your student ID (if available). Clear mobile phone capture can be accepted.

  4. Your Letter of Motivation of not more than 150 words stating why you need this award (This must be typed or copied into the space provided in the online form).

  5. Your Entry Essay of not more than 300 words (This must be typed or copied into the space provided in the online form).

  6. It takes between 5 – 10 mins to complete the online form.


Application is done online using the online application portal.

Application portal opens on 1st January 2021 by 10:00 WAT (West African Time)

and closes by midday (12:00 WAT) on 26th February 2021.

The Excellence & Credibility Award (also known as The ECA Award, ECA Award or ECA), established in 2020, founded and named after Dr. Emmanuel C. Anadebe, is an initiative with the aim of promoting interests in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) among final year Secondary School students, while testing their control of English Language in communicating the circumstances surrounding them, using critical and analytical thinking skills, problem solving skill and as well, portraying their leadership styles. In an effort to help ease the final load from parents which comes with the last term of Secondary Education of their ward(s), this award would help the winner to pay off the tuition fee, PTA and House levies (if any), register for WAEC, NECO and JAMB exams and also provide stipend for 3-months pocket allowance. The ECA Award is an annual award.




One-time full tuition for your final term (3rd Term), including the cost of registration for West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) examinations and monthly stipend, summed up to the cap of ₦100,000 for each awardee.




Once successfully awarded, you are automatically enrolled as ECA Scholar. As a scholar, you can be invited to give a talk and share your success story to encourage future applicants. You can also be booked for promotional events.
